Dance Dance Revolution.

I'm sure you have all seen this already (I have seen this video posted on practically every blog/magazine I follow), but how fun is the new Lanvin campaign?

Lust-Haves: Polka Face.

If you couldn't already tell, I am currently obsessed with patterns. First came printed pants, then came glitter and sparkles, and today my lovely readers, I share with you my never-ending love for polka dots. Polka dots are the chameleon of prints - it can lend itself to the creation of a lovely cocktail dress, or make an equally pretty day top. It seems like the world has the same love affair with the polka dot as me (oddly enough I don't feel cheated), with many designers incorporating this timeless print in their Fall/Winter 2011/12 showings. These designers have been so creative with this timeless pattern, showing us how to wear the dots in fresh, innovative ways.

If I included every designer, I don't think I would be able to finish writing this post tonight. Personally, I love what Stella and Marc (yes we are on first-term basis with one another) have done with the good ol' polka dot, infusing it with a really modern and unexpected twist.

Naturally, there have been many high-street and more affordable interpretations of this trend, which I can actually afford. Here's a few of what I am currently eyeing.

It's a good thing that I just started a weight loss shake program - I need the legs to pull off these to-die-for trousers!

Lust-Haves: Print Screening.

Remember when wearing pants with prints/patterns were only acceptable for sleeping in? Wasn't that so boring? Well, fashionistas can now rejoice - printed pants are invading public life! There are many a species of printed pants for us to choose from: utility, palazzo, tapered, harem, capri, cargo, paperbag... need I go on.

Although wearing a plain, un-patterned top with a pair of knockout pants are the safest sartorial choice, and allows the pants to shine, you can take a walk on the wild side and pair them with a patterned/printed top (cue gasps of horror and shock). I do recommend being smart about what prints and patterns you pair with though - for example, stripes + florals = acceptable, tribal patterns + leopard print = please change outfits.

Let's all say it together. 1, 2, 3. Lust.

P.S. See those orange Opening Ceremony tapered pants below? Yeah, you can get that for me as a present.

Street Style Inspired #2.

Hello my blogger friends. My one month shopping ban is almost half way over (although I'm substituting my clothes spending with food spending), so I have been resisting the urge to explore street style blogs and make my shopping itch even worse.

I couldn't look past this look though - this lady just carries the look so well, plus she's rocking some pretty drool worthy shoes. I don't think I suit calf length skirts (seriously, who decided to bring this look back?), but it looks good on her.

For this inspired look, I decided to replace her brown belt with something that has a little bit more pop: a purple belt! Yay, my favourite colour! And don't you just love those sunglasses?

Street Style Inspired #2

I hope the week is going swimmingly for you all! Remember, it's only two more days 'til the weekend xx.

Lust-Haves: Pennyloafer.

After completing the City2Surf yesterday, I am amazed that I even have energy to write this post right now.  For those who don't have the pleasure of living in Sydney, City2Surf is an annual run that stretches 14km (yes, 14 long, long kilometres) from the CBD to the picturesque Bondi Beach. I'm so proud of myself that I crossed the finish line, but my body is definitely punishing me for it. Let's just say I could've really used one of those old people scooters today, complete with the front basket and little flag sticking out the back.

So now that I've tired out my fingers typing the paragraph above, I'm going to introduce this week's list with just a few words. Loafers are comfortable and a fashion staple. Go by some.

The Best News of the Year.

I was pleased when Gap graced our shores and opened here in Sydney at the beginning of this year. I was excited when Zara opened its doors at Westfield Sydney in April. But nothing matched the internal party my brain had when I read that TOPSHOP will be opening their very own store in this humble city by the end of this year.

My new shopping home will be located at the famous Gowings building, whose most recent tenant was Supre (so in other words, it's getting a massive upgrade). According to this report, Topshop is set to open before Christmas, just in time for me to buy myself a truckload of Christmas gifts.

If you couldn't tell, I'm beyond excited about this.

Come to Mumma!

Lust-Haves: Mail out.

With the advent of the Internet and with it, a dramatic lowering of our patience level, the act of sending letters have become somewhat of a lost art. However, there's been a bit of a revival in one aspect of snail mail - the envelope. Specifically, an influx of envelope and folder style clutches have been gracing editorial pages, street style blogs and online shops (because Australian fashion is 6 months behind, surprise surprise).

I've always been a fan of the big handbag since I tend to take a lot of things out with me. And because I am a member of practically every shop, my wallet is quite thick from all the cards and coins. But I am starting to think that less is more (not to mention, I should give my poor shoulder a break). This envelope clutch trend blends very well with my style.

So I present this week's list, enjoy.

Neon Lights.

I have never been a huge cheerleader for the neon trend, but I saw the picture below and instantly felt warm and fuzzy. I cannot tell you how much I want these shoes.

Lust-Haves: Keep it in the Closet.

My family is in the middle of a massive house renovation, which is very good news for me. In a few short months I will be saying hello to a room that's double my current cupboard bedroom, a new queen-sized bed and a helluva lot more closet space (hallelujah!).

With interior design occupying a lot of my thoughts lately, the first place I gravitated to in my research was of course closet designs. And boy, do some people have it all. Carrie Bradshaw is certainly not fiction, when it comes to closet space and more importantly, what fills these coveted closets. I will probably never have anything like these closets, but let's indulge in my fantasy for a few minutes.

Ladies, prepare to have your eyes pop out.

Lust.

Note: My post title is definitely in no way meant to offend gay people. I was just extremely bad at coming up with a clever title.
