Lust-Haves: The White Shirt.

You are probably all frothing at the mouth over this week's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (I am  stupidly excited about it too!), but let's not forget that Witchery is holding a great White Shirt Campaign 2012. Timing it perfectly with Mother's Day season, 100% of the gross proceeds of all white shirts bought from Witchery or Witcheryman will go towards the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Neat, no?

Here are the ladies' shirts on offer:

My friend tried on the Stud Collar Shirt and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the collar was detachable - Witchery really knows how to get to a girl's heart! I'm also digging the Tux Shirt, since my wardrobe is in dire need of something more structured. In any case, go buy a shirt and help out this great cause!

Orange You Glad You Came? Oh Yes I Am.

Ever since Pantone declared Tangerine as THE colour of the year, there has been an explosion of orange in fashion and beauty (so really, it was kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy). Coral, citrus, copper orange, what have you, orange is dominating the streets.

So it comes as no surprise that my current favourite nail polish is one from the orange family. Face of Australia's limited edition Barbados Nail Enamel range is full of shimmery happiness, but the mandarin orange shade - Orange You Glad You Came? - brings the biggest smile to my face. Not only is it a beautifully bright colour, but the formula is also infused with gold shimmer to give it that extra pop and dimension. I'm going to let the pictures do the talking on this one (please excuse the neglected state of my cuticles).

Gorgeous, right?! The formula is rich and application is easy peasy - two coats is plenty to reach full opaqueness. And they are surprisingly chip resistant too!

The FOA Barbados Nail Enamel collection is a steal at $4.95 each from Priceline and other selected retailers.

Have a good weekend lovelies xx.

Lust-Haves: Neon Attack!

Yes, neon has been all the rage this season, but I never really paid attention to it until I saw Seal pimping out his neon nails on "The Voice".

Image via The Herald Sun

I don't know why I like Seal so much. The voice? The smooth talking? The way he wins in every "argument" against Delta (yes I don't like her)? His ugly-hot vibe? It's probably a combination of all these things, but his neon nails add a lot to the equation too.

So in honour of THE Seal, here are some of the neon things in life that could do well in my life. Sad news though, my Asian skin and neon yellow are not a match made in heaven. Honestly, I just look like I have jaundice.

Instagram-ed.

Open Omelette - be still my heart
I love Face of Australia's Barbados nail collection
More Revlon lip butters (someone stop me!)
Baked eggs from Circa Cafe
Being the best model you could get in a Napoleon Perdis make up class
New tights from Glassons

When I heard that Facebook had bought Instagram for a cool billion dollars (spare change, really), I went into flight mode with all sorts of imaginary scenarios where Mark Zuckerberg would swoop in and lord over my beloved Instagram like what the Capitol does in the Hunger Games - yes I know that is an embarrassingly bad analogy, but I just saw the movie so that is the best I can come up with right now. Like a good Girl Guide, I am always prepared, so I have saved all my Instagram photos onto my computer. But it has been about a week since the news broke and Instagram hasn't changed, so who knows,  maybe I am stupidly waiting for an apocalypse that will never happen.

I hope you are all having a great 'in between weeks which have a public holiday' week! Check out my Instagram (@wendyandco) before it's too late - I kid, or am I really?

Lust-Haves: Get Sneaky.

Image via The Blonde Salad

I've been listening to a lot of Kanye West lately, and for some reason, that has made me hanker for a rad pair of high top sneakers, a la these lust-worthy Isabel Marant ones above (MINUS the fact that they are wedged - I prefer my sneakers to be flat, thank you very much). Here are some variations that I think could do very well in my wardrobe.

Nail Heaven: NARS Night Breed.

My brain tends goes into "goldfish memory" mode and pops up with a million thoughts and great ideas, but remembers none of it. But thanks to my NARS post this week, my synapses fired up and told me that I had a NARS nail swatch to share!

The NARS Night Breed nail lacquer is unlike any other polish I've ever tried. Simply described as "black with silver glitter", it is packed with so much of the black and the glitter that two coats is plenty enough to reach full opaqueness. None of that strategic "swirling brush in the bottle to capture as much glitter as possible" is needed, and if that wasn't good enough, the glitter glides very easily onto the nail. Night Breed dries to a matte-like finish, and is the perfect accessory to a rockin' Friday night out!

If you're lucky (and quick) enough, you can snap this gorgeous polish up at ASOS - on sale too! Sadly Mecca Cosmetica stores don't stock NARS nail polishes (colour me baffled), so if ASOS is out of stock, I think eBay might become your friend.

Have a great weekend, lovelies xx.

Revlon Lip Butters: Review & Swatches.

During my recent sojourn to Hong Kong, I picked up 4 of the much lauded Revlon Lip Butters to see what all the fuss was about. Usually I don't like buying so many shades of the same product, but I knew that it would be ridiculously priced here (at AU$21.95 each, you have got to be joking), so I thought, what the heck. Even if I didn't end up liking them, I would not have cried a river like I would have if I had waited and bought them here. For a more, ahem, detailed rant about the pricing situation, check out Lather Rinse Repeat's post here.

What they say:
- Buttery Balm + Shiny Color
- Buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated.

- Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
- Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
- Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine
- Available in 20 luscious shades

The folks at Revlon were scared you might not get the memo: these babies are BUTTERY. I also bolded the butter references for your convenience.

Left to right: Raspberry Pie, Berry Smoothie, Macaroon, Pink Truffle

I will not lie: these are probably the most "buttery smooth" lip balms I've ever tried and owned. It has an extremely creamy consistency, so it glides on really easily. You can tell in the swatch picture above that the formulas are actually pretty well pigmented (apart from Berry Smoothie, which I thought would be a little more opaque). Though I wouldn't recommend wearing these lip balms if your lips are flaky or chapped - believe me, it will show! Being in the lip balm category, I didn't expect them to be particularly long-lasting, but they were really soothing and comfortable to wear for the 2-3 hours they lasted.

Rocking the Raspberry Pie - my favourite shade so far!

BREAKING NEWS!! From the 12th of April to the 23rd, there is a BUY-ONE-GET-ONE-FREE deal for the entire Revlon Lip & Nail Range at Priceline. So work off those chocolate eggs you ate at Easter and hop to your local Priceline to get your hands on this buttery goodness - $21.95 for 2, and it comes in 20 shades!

If you miss out on this great deal, I would seriously recommend you source them online or on eBay, or beg any friends or family going overseas to get some for you. They are good, but not worth the Australian price tag.

Have you tried the Lip Butters yet? What do you think?

Lust-Haves: NARS-issistic.

Every time I watch "The September Issue" (my view count has entered double digits, don't judge), I smile when Thakoon Panichgul comes onto the screen with his energy and adorable-ness. In the documentary, he is portrayed as an up-and-coming designer, who is completely respectful of the female form, but never dated in his designs. His Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection was described as "Bollywood Western" by Style.com, inspired by the patterns and rich colours the designer found during his trip to India. Thakoon has extended this inspiration into the beauty arena, teaming up with NARS to create a limited-edition nail collection for Summer 2012.

Left to right: Lai Mirchi (exclusive to 413 Bleeker Street Boutique), Anardana, Ratin Jot, Amchoor, Koliary, Kutki

The Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection is so vibrant and fun: I want every shade! Mecca Cosmetica doesn't stock NARS nail polishes, so if you have an American friend (or a parcel forwarding service), they are available from May 1 for US$18 each in store and online.

EDIT 3 JULY 2012: These delicious (not literally) polishes are available at Mecca Cosmetica for AU $32 each! They're limited edition though, so go go go!

Lust-Haves: Gradient.

Aaannd we're back with the Lust-Haves - I told you it wouldn't take long for my eyes to wander back to the wonders of (online) shopping! I'm still sporting and loving my ombre locks, so when I stumbled across Tiffany Ju's Etsy shop and saw her amazing ombre tights, I fell in love!
